What is an Expo?

Expos are where certain products/services and prototypes are shown to an audience. In case of Hackathons: Expos build community, draw focus away from judging and towards the hacks and are a much more interactive experience than being lectured at for hours when you haven’t slept for days.

Everest Hack 2019 Expo

While it is awesome to look at people coding competitively for long period of time, Hackathon should not be only about coding or even winning. Hackathons should foster the collaborative nature of the Software Industry. The Expo aims to do just that.
We aim to promote communication among Hackers, Designers, Businessmen and everyone who come to the Expo.

Why an Expo?

To showcase the amazing prototypes and products that our participants have built. Expos are really a new wave into the Hackathon Scene. While the traditional hackathon scene was like: hack, hack, hack, someone wins and lets go home, We really wanted to come up with an expo to showcase the amazing products and prototypes that our participants have built.
The expo is not only a way to showcase our participants’ products, it is much more and is aimed to increase interaction among hackers and possible employers, investors and possible future partners.

The old way of doing it

Our way

In most of the hackathons, the participants develop a prototype on their idea, demonstrate one after another on stage. In the given time bound the participants can’t express more about the things, they have developed. The hackathons end up being more of public speaking in front of the audience rather than making people aware of the things they have developed.

Our way of doing hackathon through is expo. Don’t you think expos are really enthralling? The teams can present themselves more openly through interactions. Every team member can have a chance to interact with the public whereas public
